Marion County won three straight Alabama Class 1A titles from 1971 through 1973, but it wasn't until Thursday that the Red Raiders finally returned to the state title game.

Behind game MVP Sean Wallace, Marion County rolled to a 23-12 victory over previously undefeated Linden to capture the school's fourth overall title.  Wallace accounted for 185 yards in total offense; running for two scores and throwing a touchdown pass.

As a team, Marion County rushed for 322 yards in the game, giving them a new single-season state record for rushing yards as a team.  The Red Raiders 6,881 yards topped the old mark held by Cordova of 6,734 yards set in 2008.

Four Red Raider players rushed for 1,000 yards this season.
