Match-ups Announced for Alabama Champions Challenge Football Classic

The Alabama High School Athletic Association has announced the six teams that will be involved in the fifth annual Champions Challenge Prep Football Classic that will kick-off the 2010 high school football season August 20th and 21st at the Gramton Bowl in Montgomery.

Opelika, which missed the 2009 post-season, will open the two-day tripleheader against Greenville on August 20th at 7 P.M. Greenville finished the regular season a perfect 10-0 before losing to eventual 5A champ Demopolis in the second round of the playoffs.

On Saturday (August 21st), 2009 4A runner-up Jackson will face Trinity. Jackson lost to Cherokee County 32-27 in the 2009 4A state title game to finish with a 13-2 record, while Trinity was 11- last season.

The tripleheader ends with a battle between 6A teams Auburn and Spain Park. Auburn lost in the state semis last season, while Spain Park lost in the quarters.

The regular season will kick-off the following weekend.
