Jeff Davis hires new head football coach

Jeff Davis High School footballJeff Davis High School is hoping that former G.W. Carver offensive coordinator Lee Carter can help the Volunteers back from last season's 0-10 record.

MontgomeryAdvertiser.com reports that Carter will bring his high-power offense to Jeff Davis.  Carter replaces Vincent Wiggins, who was 6-15 in two seasons as head coach.

The Volunteers own two state championships (1978 & 1996) and enter the 2013 overall record of 316-163-6, according to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society.
